TGP Calculator
Running an IFPA event? This works out its Tournament Grading Percentage (TGP), the share of full points the event is worth. Every meaningful game adds 4%, and 25 meaningful games makes 100%.
How it is worked out
- Each meaningful game adds 4% to TGP, up to 100%. Fractions round up.
- When most groups in a round are 4 players, each game counts ×2. When most are 3 players (or 3s and 4s together are the majority), ×1.5. Head-to-head counts ×1.
- By hand, groups are filled the way Match Play does it: as many groups of 4 as possible, the rest in 3s. So 19 players play 4-4-4-4-3 and 9 players play 3-3-3.
- Strikes, best-game and bracket formats have their own tables in the IFPA guide; this page is for group match play, with finals added on.
- Multi-matchplay (players spread across machines at once) does not get the group bonus.
